I'm a grumpy old man & live in the town of Darlington, County Durham in a nice big old Victorian quaker town house. I work as a project manager for a large manufacturing company.

I like living up here - the cost of living is low (beer is cheap!), the standard is high & we have some utterly awesome roads & scenery which is ideal for me in pursuit of my no.1 hobby. No gatsos, few policemen & low traffic densities make for fun weekends when I'm out & about on one of my bikes. The only downside to being up here is the relative lack of race circuits which makes it difficult for me to race as often as I would like. Hadrian's Wall, the Helmsley road (from Stokesley to Helmsley), Devil's Bridge, Hartside Cafe & Squire's Cafe are but a short ride away. Maybe one day I'll get around to posting details of my favourite roads on this site.

After a 5 year break I returned to racing MZ's in 1999 with the British Motorcycle Racing Club. It was a successful year..... I didn't really expect to get inside the top 10 but, in the end took 3rd place in Bemsee's championship just ahead of my brother. Y2000 saw seen me retire again due to personal and work pressures. I had hoped to get back out again in 2001 but again work troubles prevented me from completing a full season - this continued to be the case until 2004 when my partner at the time encouraged me to go racing again, this time on a Suzuki SV650 with the North Gloucester Road racing Club and the British Motorcycle Racing Club (Bemsee) in their respective Minitwins championships. I came 3rd in NGRRC's championship that year. 2005 saw me move up a level to MRO national championships on the same bike. More racing antics can be found here.

I'm also a keen photographer & was studying for a degree photography but, this has taken a back seat to my racing of late...I'm intending to get around to publishing my portfolio online but, don't hold your breath. I specialise in landscapes and automotive-related subjects.
